The story behind M.I.N.W...
Maid in North Wales was established in 2012 by Alexandra Stokes, who is proud to say that over the years it has gone from strength to strength.
It began after Alex returned home to North Wales with her daughter who was 3 at the time. She needed to find work and quickly realised that jobs that would work around her daughters education were non existent. Alex decided to go self employed as a cleaner allowing her to choose her own hours which worked around her daughter.
Alex began her journey doing domestic cleaning which then progressed to being asked to do a holiday home clean in Penmaenmawr, which was the beginning of "Maid In North Wales". The laundry service started from her living room which soon moved to the outhouse in her garden and then in 2016 Alex bought a derelict building in Llandudno Junction in need of complete refurbishment which was transformed into a working laundrette.
The demand was still very high especially from the Llanrwst end of the valley, and the Junction shop started to feel too small so in 2023 Alex then bought another derelict building on Llanrwst square and created Maid in North Wales number two!
With both shops fully established and running well...2025 will see the launch of an exclusive online service for the "Collection & Delivery" of laundry as well as a "Drop Off and Collection" service.
